Welcome to Surge 2013 - featuring "Consumerization of IT - The SMAC Edge",  a unique event wherein the best and brightest technology leaders, emerging companies and startups congregate to debate the changing technology landscape, the opportunities that lie ahead and how do emerging companies stay ahead.

This year’s edition, Surge 2013 has an interesting and important theme, not only for the Emerge community, but also the industry at large.  The impact of emerging trends such as Social Media, Mobility, Big Data and Analytics and the Cloud (SMAC for short) is transforming the way IT is being used and information is consumed in Enterprises.

On June 18th, 2013, Surge 2013 will discuss these interesting developments in power packed sessions, organized in a unique format.  The agenda and the topics have been conceived to give the participants a multi-dimensional view of Consumer technologies in the enterprise context, from CEOs, CIOs, CTOs and Practitioners.

Plenary sessions and panel discussions will set the context for a more focused deep drive sessions organized as parallel tracks for the Consumers and Enterprises in the second half.

In line with the theme of the conference, our keynote speaker will share leadership challenges in creating Next Generation Businesses with Consumerization of IT systems.

Panelists will debate integration of SMAC technologies with a “Been there, done that” approach, in the next session.

In the second half, there will be separate tracks with common threads of discussions – monetization of SMAC and technical deep of the different constituents. This is followed by a panel discussion addressing the big question – Is Consumerization of IT Essential or Inevitable? (Just a Fad or a Real Need).
